Newsradio is an American sitcom, set in a fictional New York city radio station (WNYX). Created by Paul Simms, an American television writer. Paul began his career writing for Late Night with David Letterman and later wrote for HBO's The Larry Sanders Show before creating NewsRadio.
The original broadcast ran from 1995-1999 on NBC in front of a live studio audience. Populated by an eccentric station owner and staff, who takes us on a daily ride of work related stories packed with fast-paced humor and visual gags with smart dialogue and storylines. There are a total of 97 episodes which often are based on historical events and news story references that are targeted to a college-educated audience.
