  • The New York Liberty are a women's professional basketball team. They compete in the Eastern Conference of the WNBA. They have reached the WNBA Championships four times since their 1997 founding, however they have never won the title. They played the first outdoor professional basketball regular season game, the "Liberty Outdoor Classic" on July 19, 2008, facing the Indiana Fever at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
