    The New York Jets are a Pro American football team. Located in Northeastern New Jersey which is part of the tri-state New York metropolitan area they are considered the NY Jets.

    As members of the Eastern Division (ED) of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL), the team plays its home games in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at the Meadowlands Sport Complex at Giants Stadium.

    The team's training facility and corporate headquarters are located in Florham Park, New Jersey.

  • History

    In 1960 as a charter member the team was formed under the American Football League originally named New York Titans.

    Renamed after a five-man syndicate bought the team in 1963.

    During the AFL and NFL merger the Jets joined the NFL.

    The Jets hold the distinction of being the first AFL team to defeat an NFL club during Super Bowl III, It was at that AFL-NFL World Championship Game wis where they defeated the Baltimore Colts.

  • New Stadium

    Currently there is a new stadium being built in the complex for the Jets. Accorsing to the complex's website the goals with the New Jets Stadium is to create the best home field in football and provide a range of seating options so that Jets fans can enjoy the biggest upgrade in NFL history. The stadium will be completed in 2010, and all Jets fans can say, finally, they have a home.

    The opening is to coincide with the entertainment mega complex currently being built called Xanadu which is part of the Meadowlands Complex.
