New Year's Rockin Eve is a television special hosted by Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest that airs every year on New Year's Eve. The special follows and reports on West and East coast festivities for the hours leading up to the countdown for the New Year's ball drop, in Times Square, New York City.
The annual show airs live on December 31 and features a variety of musical performances and appearances by celebrities.
2009-10 Special
In the 2009-10 season, Daughtry and Jennifer Lopez will perform live in Times Square. Additionally, pre-taped performances from Las Vegas will air and will be hosted by Fergie. Guy Lombardo
From 1956-76, Guy Lombardo hosted the traditional New Year's celebration on CBS and NBC called Happy New Year, America. He was responsible for a formal show which became known for yearly orchestra performances of "Auld Lang Syne." It is said that Lombardo paved the way for Dick Clark.
