  • New Edition or "N.E" is an American group formed in Boston, Massachusetts on 1978. New Edition was one of the first groups to originate the style known as "New Jack Swing". In 1983, the group released their first single "Candy Girl", which was a hit, topping the R&B charts. Their debut album, also titled "Candy Girl", had two more R&B hits, "Popcorn Love" and "Is This the End?," which led them to a contract with MCA Records.
