Never Back Down is a film about Jake Tyler (Sean Faris) who moves to a new town, and is beat up by the neighborhood bullies. A veteran fighter Roquoa (Djimon Hounsou) mentors and trains Jake to be ready for a fight against the local martial arts champion, Ryan McCarthy (Cam Gigandet). Ryan and Jake are both in love with Baja Miller (Amber Heard), which adds to the rivalry.
Ultimately Jake and Ryan participate in their own "Beatdown" and the winner has a chance at Baja Miller's love.
