  • Neutrogena provides a cosmetic skincare line, and is a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson. The company was originally started in 1930 as Natone and supplied beauty salons with products. In 1940, Natone started to manufacture and distribute products to retail stores. As Stolaroff was traveling in Europe for business he heard about a soap created by Dr. Edmond Fromont who was a Belgian chemist.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutrogena This formula created by Fromont was patented, and known for being a mild and not leaving behind a soapy residue. After this trip, Stolaroff believed there was a market for a skincare product, which he coined as Neutrogena, and distributed it in the United States.
