  • Neutral Milk Hotel was a short-lived Indie Rock band that was led by main songwriter and chief lyricist Jeff Mangum, who often described their music as "Fuzz-Folk". Although they only released two formal albums during their career, they have since gone on to achieve cult-status as one of the best unrecognized bands of the 1990s. The band's 1998 second album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is usually considered to be one of the classic Indie Rock albums of all time. They were also a large part of the Athens, Georgia-based musical collective known as Elephant 6.
