Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado is a Canadian-born singer/songwriter of Portuguese descent. Furtado gained fame after releasing her debut album Whoa, Nelly! in 2000, which featured her breakthrough Grammy Award-winning single "I'm like a Bird". After becoming a mother and releasing the less commercially successful Folklore, Furtado returned to prominence in 2006 with the release of Loose. Furtado is known for experimenting with different instruments, sounds, genres, languages, and vocal styles.

Nelly Furtado appeared in a duet with Brian Adams during the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. They sang Bang The Drum.

The album was released on September 14, 2009, by Vivendi's Universal Music Group. A single from the album, "Manos al Aire," which translates "Hands in the Air", became No. 1 on Billboard's Latin radio chart.
