Neil Young performs "Long May You Run" beneath the Olympic Cauldrons at BC Place during the 2010 Olympics Closing Ceremony in Vancouver. Following Young's performance, the cauldrons were extinguished and the arms retracted. After Young, William Shatner appeared during the ceremony.

Canada native and rock legend Neil Young performed at the 2010 Olympics Closing Ceremony in Vancouver on February 28, 2010. Young was in the crowd for the hockey Gold Medal game at Canada Hockey Place where the Canadian Team beat the US Team to take the top prize. Other notable Canadians in the crowd included Bryan Adams, Wayne Gretzky, Michael J Fox and William Shatner. The ceremonies began at 7:30 pm EST and will go on for 3 hours. It will not be airing live on the West Coast of the US. Performance

Little was officially announced in advance about the actual content of the Closing Ceremonies.
