Neil Aspinall was the CEO of Apple Corps from 1968 to 2007, and is usually referred to as the "Fifth Beatle". Aspinall went to school with Sir Paul McCartney and George Harrison, and had been the Beatles first road manager. He later became their personal assistant, and in 1968, assumed the job of running Apple Corps on a temporary basis. That temporary job lasted 39 years. Although not a musician, Aspinall was featured in small ways on several Beatles songs, including Within You Without You (tamboura), Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! (harmonica), Magical Mystery Tour (percussion), and "Yellow Submarine" (chorus). He died of cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City on March 24, 2008 at the age of 65.
