Neanderthals is a 2009 animated film directed by Jon Favreau, which employs Motion Capture technology. Although the details of the plot have not yet been released, Favreau claims that the film will be comical and stylized, and will not resemble other Motion Capture films such as The Polar Express Monster House or Beowulf.
The film has been in development for four years, and Favreau hopes to have principal photography completed before the potential actor's strike in the summer of 2008.
Neanderthals is written by Robert L. Baird, Jon Favreau and Daniel Gerson, produced by Jon Favreau, and will be distributed by Sony Pictures.
