  • Neal Peart is the drummer and lyricist for the band Rush. His drumming has been influential to many of the modern drummers. He has overcome the loss of his wife and daughter, he continues to write and perform.

    Although Neal has been a key part of Rush's success, he was not the original drummer. He was referred to the other two band members after they had split from their first drummer, John Rutsey. In 1975, Fly by Night was released.
