NCAA Final Four

The Final Four is the annual conclusion to college basketball's NCAA Tournament or March Madness. Teams must work there way up winning each game in this single elimination basketball tournament. Winning the first two rounds, they will enter the "Sweet Sixteen", then the "Elite Eight, and lastly, the Final Four. Here the winners the four regional brackets play for a chance at the national title.

The tournament format begins with 65 teams. The two lowest-seeded teams compete in the Play-in Game. Once the top 64 are established, a team must win four consecutive games to reach the Final Four.

History

The Men's Final Four has historically been dominated by the University of California Los Angeles and the North Carolina Tar Heels, with UCLA holding the records for most championships, Final Four appearances, Final Four wins and consecutive Final Four appearances.

Despite some schools having historically dominant programs, several lower-seeded teams have managed to make the Final Four and garner significant underdog followings, including George Mason University in 2006, Villanova University in 1985, and NC State in 1983.
