NCAA Conference Tournament Schedule

The NCAA Conference Tournaments are held at the conclusion of the regular season for most conferences. http://www.ncaa.com/champ/m-baskbl-d1-champ.html The tournament gives every team in that particular conference a chance to lock up a bid in the playoff system in college basketball, March Madness. The winner of each conference tournament earns a guaranteed spot in the postseason tournament, even if they weren’t the best team in their conference throughout the regular season.

The winners of each conference tournament earn an Automatic Bid. At the end of every conference tournament, there will be 31 automatic bids handed out to the conference winners, meaning that there are 34 teams who earn At-large bids.

There is only one Division 1 conference that does not hold a college basketball conference tournament, and that is the Ivy League. The Automatic Bid is instead awarded to the team that wins the conference during the regular season. http://www.columbiaspectator.com/2009/01/26/where-s-ivy-league-tourney-love
