NBA Live 08

NBA Live 08 is a basketball video game and is a part of the NBA Live series published by EA Sports. This is the first game made available on all of the next-generation consoles: the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. The game is also available on the PlayStation Portable and on computers with Windows XP. The game features Washington Wizards superstar Gilbert Arenas on the cover. There are more than 30 rookies from the 2007-08 NBA season available for play, including Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant.

There are several notable features in NBA Live 08, including the soundtrack and commentary.

• Commentators: The four featured commentators in the game are Marv Albert (play-by-play commentator), Steve Kerr (analyst), Ernie Johnson (All-star game play-by-play commentator) and Greg Anthony (All-star game analyst)
• Soundtrack: As with many EA Sports games, there's a soundtrack featuring a wide variety of contemporary artists. Among the artists include DJ Jazzy Jeff, Joss Stone, Eve, KRS-One, Stephen Marley and Timbaland. There was a rumor that T.I. would have a song in the game, but those rumors were false. Three songs are available in some of the Windows XP versions but not in the console versions. Those songs were performed by The Coup, Gorillaz, and San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.

The game received mostly average reviews from video game critics. According to GameRankings, the PlayStation 3 version received the best ratings (about 74 percent), while the Nintendo Wii version received the least amount of praise (about 53 percent). Many critics praised the fast-paced nature of the game as well as the change in camera angle to a broadcast-type view. However, critics did not like the lack of natural ability; players still attempted layups behind the backboard.
