NBA All-Star Saturday features special events and competitions leading up to Sunday's All-Star Game.

NBA All-Star Saturday will be held on February 14, 2009, from the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The All-Star Game will follow in February 15, 2009.

• H-O-R-S-E Game - Winner Kevin Durant
• Shooting Stars Competition - Winner: Detroit
• Skills Challenge - Winner: Derrick Rose
• Three-point Shootout - Winner: Daequan Cook
• Slam Dunk Contest - Winner: Nate Robinson

1. First held in 2004
2. Held on the Saturday before the NBA All-Star Game
3. Played at the same venue as the All-Star Game
4. Teams include a current NBA and WNBA player, as well as a retired NBA player
5. Participants compete in teams representing their cities
6. San Antonio has won the competition twice
7. Teams must complete six shots from various locations, including a half-court shot, in sequential order, competing for the fastest time
8. Four teams complete in the first round, with the top two teams going on to a final round
