Native American Beadwork is an artistic form and spiritual expression of Native Americans. By creating designs, patterns, styles and stitches with beads of various materials on leather or cloth, the Native people kept records, identified themselves, illustrated teachings and stories, or simply created beauty. Beadwork is a very important continuing aspect of Native cultures, and an integral part of an individual's Regalia (ceremonial clothing).
