On March 13, 2008, the committee prompted and investigation on embezzlement charges after announcing that former treasurer Christopher J. Ward had transfered several hundred thousand dollars into his personal bank accounts. After the announcement, committee chair Tom Reynolds resigned from his position amid allegations that he had failed in his advisory duties. -
