    The restaurant chain IHOP, an abbreviation for the International House of Pancakes, coined the term National Pancake Day and has offered free pancakes on the day since 2006. It offers a free stack of three pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m on February 24. In return, they ask for voluntary donations to the charity Children's Miracle Network.
