National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

- Purpose: Increase awareness about breast cancer and early detection
- Logo: Pink ribbon for awareness

October is the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States. A pink ribbon is worn and used to signify awareness for breast cancer and to encourage women to have annual mammograms and monthly self breast examinations.

This video talks about the history of NBCAM, and how far the campaign for breast cancer awareness has come. When the campaign first started, even using the word 'breast' in a local newspaper or on television was not allowed.
