National Book Festival

  • The National Book Festival is an annual event held in Washington, D.C.. Numerous authors, poets, and illustrators are invited to the festival for book signings and public readings. This year's festival will be held on September 27, 2008 in the National Mall.
  • Festival History

    The first National Book Festival was held in 2001 at the Library of Congress and around the U.S. Capitol. It was organized by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, both of whom have continued in their roles ever since.
