NHL Career
Paetsch was drafted 58th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals. He was unable to agree to a contract with the Capitals and re-entered the draft in 2003. Paetsch was selected 202nd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2003 draft and was assigned to the Rochester Americans, a Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate. After two seasons in the minors, Paetsch made his NHL debut with the Sabres in 2005. In 2007, he re-signed with the Sabres to a reported three-year $2.55 million contract.Timeline
