Career
Fillion moved to New York City in 1994 and appeared in the soap opera One Life to Live as Joey Buchanan. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles and played a supporting role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl|Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place and was cast as "James Frederick Ryan" in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan.
In 2002, Fillion landed the role of Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the Joss Whedon Science Fiction television series Firefly. Although the show was canceled in its first season, it was adapted to the big screen and Fillion reprised his role in the movie Serenity. In the fall of 2007, Fillion joined the cast of ABC's Desperate Housewives.
Reunited
Fillion once again joined forces with Firefly creator Joss Whedon in the online musical mini-series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Fillion provides the voice for super-villain Captain Hammer in the series, set to premiere on the series' official website on July 15, 2008.
