Natalie Wood

  • Natalie Wood was an American film actress. She began her acting career at the tender age of 5 when, uncredited, she appeared in the film Happy Land. Her first credited role was in Orson Welles's 1946 film Tomorrow Is Forever. Then in 1947, she cemented her career with her iconic performance as Susan Walker in Miracle on 34th Street. By 1955, she transitioned from child actor to bona fide actress with her Academy Award nominated role in Rebel Without a Cause. She would twice more be nominated for roles in the films Splendor in the Grass and Love with the Proper Stranger. Her other major film credits included: West Side Story, Gypsy, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, The Candidate, and the television miniseries From Here to Eternity. She was married three times. Twice she was married to Robert Wagner, from 1958 to 1962, and again in 1972. She was also married in between to Richard Gregson from 1969 to 1971. She had two daughters, Natasha and Courtney. She was filming the movie Brainstorm with Christopher Walken when she died on November 29, 1981. She was posthmously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1987.
