Natalie Imbruglia is an Australian actress and pop rock singer-songwriter who made her music debut with the release of her album Left of the Middle in 1997. The album featured the worldwide hit song "Torn", and topped the charts in Australia, United States and the United Kingdom.
Left of the Middle
Imbruglia's first album, Left of the Middle, was a massive commercial success in 1997-1998. The album featured the No. 1 single Torn, a cover of an Ednaswap song that was first released in 1995. Disk jockey Rick Dees referred to Imbruglia's cover of "Torn" as the "Number one single of the '90" in his Millennium countdown special. The album was certified platinum four weeks after its American release.
