Natalie Cole

Natalie Cole is the daughter of legendary Jazz icon, Nat King Cole. Since her debut album in 1975, she has produced hits in the R&B, Pop and Smooth Jazz categories that have brought her eight Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 1976.

Cole's sister, Carole, reportedly died while Cole was undergoing a kidney transplant at Cedars-Sinai on May 19, 2009. Carole had recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. Cole underwent kidney transplant surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, on May 19, 2009. Doctors say Cole is doing well and resting comfortably after the surgery. People Magazine reported on February 4, 2009, that Cole's son, Robert, may be a suitable donor for Cole's kidney transplant.
