Some of the major sites that tourist visit on a daily basis are the Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry and the Music Valley Wax Museum. Each is unique but the same in their own way. The Country Music Hall of Fame is open to the public for tours, shopping and dining. The museum is filled with country music history and some of it can only be found at the Hall of Fame. For many years the it was also home to the Grand Ol' Opry. The wax museum is a special place, filled with over 50 country music artist, made of wax and dressed in their special stage outfits.
If you're looking to get away from the music scene of Nashville, bring the family to the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. It's the complete opposite of what "Music City" stands for in that it's filled with exhibits from many different habitats and there are hundreds of different animals on display from around the world. They plan on developing the Nashville Zoo to be one of the biggest in country. It's an experience that can't be missed if traveling with children.
Events
The biggest event in Nashville is most likely the CMA Music Festival. It's four days of live country music, artist interaction with fans for autographs and such and 100's of hours of concerts. What makes this festival so special is that half it's proceeds are donated to charity. The CMA Music Festival is usually held in June at a variety of locations throughout the city. The "Fan Fair," as it was once called, has also been known to see the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd in it's shows.
