On June 9, 2008, Nashville Star's sixth season premiered on NBC after a move from USA Network. Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus became the new host, and judges included singer Jewel, music producer and songwriter Jeffrey Steele and musician John Rich from the country duo Big and Rich.
