NASCAR 08

NASCAR 08 is a racing video game as is the eleventh installment in the NASCAR game series developed by EA Tiburon, a division of EA Sports. The game features most of the drivers in the NASCAR racing series. The game was released on July 23, 2008, the earliest date on the calendar that EA Sports has released a NASCAR title. The game features Tony Stewart on the cover, the third time he has been on the cover of a NASCAR game. In the International version, Juan Pablo Montoya is on the cover of the game. NASCAR 08 received below-average reviews from video game critics.

NASCAR's top three driving series are available for play in NASCAR 08: The Craftsman Truck Series, the National Series and the NEXTEL Cup. Drivers all compete with NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow, the new vehicle implemented by the league. The structure of the game is aligned with the structure of the league; drivers go onto different tracks throughout the nation competing in events.

Among the changes and omissions in the game:

• Drivers: Some notable NASCAR drivers are not in the game. They include Ward Burton, Jeremy Mayfield, Mike Bliss, Johnny Sauter, Kenny Wallace and Carl Edwards. Kyle Busch is in the North American version of the game, but not the International version. Edwards is not in the game because he has a contract agreement with Excalibur Electronics.
• Sponsors: As with past NASCAR video games, alcohol sponsors do not appear in the game. The Busch Series was been renamed the NASCAR National Series. Any alcohol decals on the vehicles were replaced by the team name, driver name or secondary sponsor.
