Praise and Criticism
Modi's leadership in Gujarat brought many social reforms to the region, including improved nutrition, women's rights, and security against terrorism. However, the region also saw significant violence between the local Islamic and Hindu residents. The aftermath of the riots in 2002 led many to call for Modi's resignation, despite his other significant social advances. -
