Naples

  • Naples is located in the southern part of Italy, in the region of Campania. This 2500-year-old city was founded by the Greek and to this date shows in its configuration, traditions, and art the influence of the populations that dominated it through history.

Naples, once capital of the Reign of Two Sicilies, became finally part of the Reign of Italy in 1860. The historic center of the city shows side-by-side traces of all dominations and has been declared a Cultural Heritage site from Unesco.

Naples is not just a city of history and art; it is also a city of beautiful views and scenery. The bay of Naples and the Mount Vesuvio frame the metropolis and give it its nickname of “Bella Napoli”.

Campi Flegrei, (Phlegraean Fields) just outside the city were said to be the home of the mythological god of fire, Vulcan, and are a large active caldera that causes the phenomenon of bradisismo-a slow but incessant rising and lowering of the earth surface.
