Nandita Das

Nandita Das is an Indian actress who has appeared in a number of Indian independent films as well as a few Bollywood films. She is also known for her role as an activist.

Nandita Das an actress and activist. In particular she is a strong advocate of women's rights. She has collaborated often with director Deepa Mehta, who cast her in both Earth and Fire, for which she gained international recognition.

She also has a masters degree in social work and prior to acting worked with a few NGOs. Most recently, she has appeared in Before the Rains opposite Rahul Bose and Ramchand Pakistani.
