Life and Career
Nandita Das an actress and activist. In particular she is a strong advocate of women's rights. She has collaborated often with director Deepa Mehta, who cast her in both Earth and Fire, for which she gained international recognition.She also has a masters degree in social work and prior to acting worked with a few NGOs. Most recently, she has appeared in Before the Rains opposite Rahul Bose and Ramchand Pakistani.
