    Davenport began his career with the Miami Hurricanes, helping them capture the national championship in 2001. Following college, he was drafted 135th overall in the 2002 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers. Davenport made his NFL debut with the Packers that same year and played 39 games over four seasons in Green Bay. In 2006, he was released by the Packers and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to the 2008 season, Davenport was released by the Steelers, then re-signed just days later.
