The NAFTA Superhighway is a term applied widely on the Internet to several proposed trade routes that lead from United States' southernmost border with Mexico to the northernmost border with Canada. There is some debate as to the actual existence of any real plans for such a superhighway.
On January 6, 2009, the Texas Department of Transportation announced that the plans for the Trans-Texas Corridor, which accounts for a significant portion of the NAFTA superhighway, would not be moving forward.
