Mythbusters is a reality series in which two special effects engineers (Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage) attempt to prove or disprove common myths and urban legends. The are aided by a second team of younger "mythbusters" Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, Grant Imahara. Each episode covers two myths. The teams try different ways to disprove them, often creating elaborate devices and effects. By the end of the trial the myth is either busted, deemed plausible, or confirmed as truth.

On March 25, 2009, while filming in the town of Esparto, California, the Mythbusters crew launched an explosion which was strong enough to cause windows in the town to shatter, as well as a mild panic.
