MySpace Phishing refers to attempts to steal users' login information ( phishing) on the social network MySpace. This is a big problem for the popular site, with dummy accounts and fake massages being created daily for the express purpose of tricking users into providing their login information. Phishers who run these scams usually have one of a small set of intentions: some want to steer traffic to pornography sites. Others attempt to provide ringtones to users and charge a highly inflated price. The most malicious want the login information itself, which will be used to hack into other sites in order to steal the identity of the user. The best way to avoid these scams is to delete messages from unknown users without opening.
