My Little Pony

  • My Little Pony was a very popular toy in the 1980s. They were relaunched in the late 1990s and are still manufactured today. The plastic ponies have brushable manes and tails. They have become a popular collector's item. My Little Pony has become popular in other media as well. In 1982, Hasbro launched the first group of My Little Ponies. Each pony had a unique symbol on its flank, a theme that would continue throughout the production of My Little Pony. The merchandise line was expanded to include bedding, plush toys, books, playsets, and many other items.

    Two My Little Pony TV specials, one movie and one animated series were set in Dream Valley. The Ponies had adventures with their human friend Megan and their dragon friend Spike. A second series, My Little Pony Tales, was set in a very human town, in which the ponies had typical school child problems. Currently, the My Little Pony characters appear in a new series of direct to DVD movies, which are unrelated to the first or second animated series. There was also a touring live stage My Little Pony production from 2006 to 2008.
