  • My Bloody Valentine is an alternative rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1984. They were famous for playing shoegaze, a style of rock that uses heavy guitar distortion and other audio effects. They have released two full-length studio albums, the latter of which—1991's Loveless—received huge amounts of critical praise. They broke up in 1995, but announced their reunion in 2007.
  • Break Up and Make Up

Despite the huge critical praise for Loveless, album sales were lackluster. After a period of creative inactivity, the band broke up in 1995 and the members went their separate ways. But in 2007, they announced their reunion, as well as a series of shows in the UK. They also announced that a new album was almost finished.
  • Quotes

"All of 'Loveless' is suffused with an apocalyptic, pre-orgasmic glow, the sound of an annihilating intimacy. My Bloody Valentine music is a smelting, melding, crucible of love in which every borderline (inside/outside, you/me, lover/beloved) is abolished." -Music critic Simon Reynolds
