Career
In 1996 and 1997, the band released two singles: "Three Natural Sixes" and "Dance Hall Music" and were signed with Die Young Stay Pretty, a subsidiary of Sub Pop. Their debut album, Murder City Devils, was released in 1997. In 1998, the band released their second album, Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts with producer Jack Endino. They followed the release with a lengthy tour of the United States. In 2000, they released their third album, In Name and Blood. The liner notes from the album shocked many people, as the members appeared in pictures as murder victims. In May, they performed their first European tour with the band Zeke. After recording the mini LP Thelema in 2001, Leslie Hardy left the band and Murder City Devils broke up. Their last concert was held on Halloween, 2003 and was released on a DVD called RIP in 2005.
