Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe comic books published by Marvel Comics. She was a retired U.S. Air Force Intelligence agent turned NASA Security Chief who developed super-powers after exposure to alien Kree technology.

Powers Lost and Regained

While Ms. Marvel was briefly a member of the Avengers, she was attacked by the mutant Rogue, who possesses the ability to hijack another super-powered individual's powers. The fight lasted too long, and Ms. Marvel's powers and memories were permanently transferred to Rogue. While Ms. Marvel eventually regained knowledge of her memories, she lost the emotional connection to them.

Ms. Marvel, powerless, begins an association with the X-Men and is with them when they are kidnapped by the alien Brood. The Brood experiment on her, linking her to a white hole, which gives her a number of super-human powers in excess of those she has as Ms. Marvel. She takes the name Binary.

Eventually, the connection with the white hole fades, and her powers degrade to a level similar to when she was Ms. Marvel. Since another super-hero has taken the name Ms. Marvel in the interim, Danvers adopts the name Warbird.
