  • Features

Firefox features many of the same features that the current version of Internet Explorer features. Users can download free extensions from 3rd party developers or from the main firefox development team to give it further capability. Users can also use the tabbed browsing capability to open multiple web pages, without opening new windows. Firefox also features the ability to keep users away from most Phishing sites that are available.
  • History

Firefox was first released by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross in 2002. The browser began as an experimental project and was named Phoenix, but because of name disputes, it was later renamed Mozilla Firebird. With the name Firebird, they went under intense criticism from Firebird and eventually changed the name to Mozilla Firefox.
