Physical Description
The mountain goat is a thick bodied mammal. It has thin horns that are about 200 to 300 millimeters long. The horns thicken with age generating growth rings that can be used to determine the age of the goat. Males' horns curve more than females' horns do. Up until about three years of age, males and females are the same size. After that, males grow substantially larger.Animal Diversity Web: Mountain Goat The mountain goat has long hair along its neck, shoulders and spine.
