Mounds

Mounds is a candy bar produced by Hershey's. The candy bar has a chewy coconut center topped in dark chocolate. Mounds is similar to Almond Joy, except that it is coated with dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate. Mounds also lacks almonds in its center.

Mounds could be bought for 5 cents when they were created in 1920. They originally came as a single piece until 1929 when they were sold in packages of two for the same price. During World War II, Peter Paul was faced with shortages of ingredients and focused most of their production efforts on Mounds. Almond Joy bars were later added to the line.
