Special cupcakes for the spring holiday of Mother's Day should reflect the season. Use any standard cupcake recipe for chocolate or yellow cake. Decorate the cupcakes as if they were flowers such as tulips or carnations, or other spring images. Put the letters M-O-M on the top of a set of cupcakes and add a pretty ribbon. Use butter cream and jelly beans to create pastel flowers and green leaves and stems; or make a basket or bonnet drawn out of colored icing.

Easy Mother's Day Cupcakes
All you need is a box of your favorite cake mix, frosting and decorations. Follow the directions on the cake mix for cupcakes. Once your cupcakes are cool frost with a buttercream frosting, canned frosting or your favorite cool whip frosting. Apply decorations after your cupcakes are frosted. Let the kids help with the decorating, they can create a cupcake just for mom!
