  • Free Fall Kombat

Free Fall Kombat is a special gameplay feature making its debut in Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. In certain stages, you can toss your opponent through a breakable wall - like a giant screen in the Batcave - which initiates a minigame battle as you and your enemy fall down to the next floor of the stage.

When you initiate Free Fall Kombat, the camera zooms in on the fighters, and two sets of icons representing a controller's buttons appear on either side of the screen. The attacker then presses buttons to attack his enemy, who's on the bottom as the two fall. In turn, the defender can counter or block these attacks by correctly guessing which buttons his opponent will be pressing.

As the attacker gains more successful hits, a "Super" meter grows at the top of the screen. When the meter fills to a certain point, he can unleash a powerful finishing move that will send his opponent flying down to the ground. The attack takes off a large percentage of the opponent's health, though if he can successfully block and counter attacks to prevent the meter from filling, it can be avoided.

Though Free Fall Kombat has been praised as one of the highlights of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, some have pointed to its potential exploitability in online play.GamePro: Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Review (November 17, 2008)

  • Test Your Might

Test Your Might, similar to Free Fall Kombat, is a minigame that is only available on certain stages: The Throne Room, Gotham City and Metropolis.IGN: Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Review Page 2 (November 15, 2008)

In Test Your Might, both fighters push each other through dozens of walls in the stage. By pressing buttons rapidly, players move a marker on a meter to their side of the meter. At the end of Test Your Might, the game deals out between 0 and 30 percent damage based on where the marker was on the meter.
