  • Raiden's Story

    Raiden is the God of Thunder and protector of Earthrealm, where Mortal Kombat tournaments take place. When the sorceror Shang Tsung announced the Mortal Kombat tournament on his private island, Raiden assumed human form to participate in the tournament and attempt to save Earthrealm. Raiden's brother Shao Kahn, who invaded Earthrealm, is a boss in MK vs. DC.

    There are 22 characters total in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, 11 taken from the Mortal Kombat universe and 11 DC heroes. The collision of the two universes is the result of a "cataclysmic event" and each side tells the story from a different point of view.     Test Your Might is available on specific levels and allows a player to grab his opponent and use him as a battering ram to bust through walls. As soon as the event begins, a button-mashing contest begins in which the two players attempt to move an onscreen meter closer to their side. When the two finally land in the next room, the game awards between zero and 30% damage depending on where the meter's location.

    During standard gameplay, a two-level Rage Meter is filling below the character health bar. When one level of the meter is filled, the player can perform a Kombo Breaker to interrupt his opponent's flurry of attacks.
