Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman was injured in a car accident on Mississippi's Highway 32. Freeman, who had been driving, was airlifted to a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital after the wreck. He suffered a broken arm and elbow, and sustained a shoulder injury, but was discharged from the hospital 3 days later, on August 7.
Memphis resident Demaris Meyer was Freeman's passenger.
