Montgomery is the capital city of the southern state of Alabama. It is the second most populated city in the state. It is rich in Civil War history being the first capital of the Confederacy. Montgomery is home to the famed Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955 which took place in protest of segregation in the state. Montgomery was incorporated as a city on December 3, 1819. It has an estimated population of 201,998 people.
